Not a voice for the voiceless, but a vessel through which underrepresented stories are shared with the world.
I was born in Karachi, Pakistan to a wonderful Muslim family. Even though I grew up in the U.S., I loved and embraced my religion, culture and language. From a young age, I faced discrimination because of my identity. I quickly realized the hate was due to the public's lack of education and the media's lack of representation of people like me. I became a journalist to change that. Nearly two years after graduating from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication, I create work that engages my audience in conversations about race and identity. |
I am currently open to any and all work opportunities to enhance my skills and serve my community. In between job hunting, I love to read and write creatively. My current obsession is the Six of Crows Duology by Leigh Bardugo. When I'm not reading or involved with something journalism related, I work on my debut novel, a South Asian inspired dark fantasy romance.
I am excited for you to learn more about me. Feel free to explore my work to get a better sense of my skills.
